HISTORY

Hello, my name is Grant Moroney. I am the spokesman for the Road Knights Model Car Club. The Road Knights were formed in the spring of 1985. I came along and joined the club on it's 6th meeting. Some of our very first meetings were held in the basement of Toy Circus toy store in Charlotte. As months and years passed, we met in many places, from pizza places to members homes.
Meeting at members homes was neet. It gave us all a chance to see everyone's hobby rooms and their latest projects. but, meeting at members homes was hard in that builders that wanted to join had no idea where we were from month to month. So we decided to start having our meetings in a fixed location.
Our membership roll over the years has varied from 15 to 53 paid members. we have yearly dues of $10.00. Being in this club longer than anyone else, I have seen a lot of ups and downs. but, we have always stuck together.
Over the years I have met many new friends from this club and other clubs from all the shows that we travel to as a club. We have lost friends and members to that big hobby shop in the sky. They will all be missed.
The Road Knights have put on many displays, and every year we hold a large contest in August in Charlotte, NC. Keep posted to our site for up coming events.
